Sir Neal O'Donnell, 1st Bt. is the son of Hugh Mór O'Donnell and Maud Brown.1,2 He married Mary Coane, daughter of William Coane, in 1766.3 He died in 1811.1
He acquired the heirloom relic, the Cathach, a 6th century Psalter of St. Columba.3 He was a merchant, and bought land in County Mayo.3 He was created 1st Baronet O'Donnell [Ireland] on 2 December 1780.4
