John Francis St. Barbe Barclay was born on 10 June 1902 at Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England.2 He was the son of John Barclay.3 He married Joan Rosemary Clarke, daughter of Lt.-Col. Reginald Hastings Clarke and Ernestine Maud Govett, on 30 November 1931.1 He died on 27 May 1940 at age 37 at Belgium, killed in action.1,4
He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Army Service Corps.2 He fought in the Second World War.1
