     Henry Smith Wright was born on 27 June 1839.² He was the son of Ichabod Charles Wright and Hon. Theodosia Denman.² He married, firstly, Mary Jane Cartledge, daughter of William Cartledge, on 17 October 1865.² He married, secondly, Josephine Henrietta Wright, daughter of Reverend John Adolphus Wright and Josephine Anne Law, on 9 February 1869.² He died on 19 March 1910 at age 70.²
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)² He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Nottinghamshire between 1886 and 1895.¹ He lived at Oaklands Park, Chichester, Sussex, England^G.² He had two other daughters who died in infancy by his second wife.²
