Robert Chalmers, 1st and last Baron Chalmers was born on 18 August 1858 at Stoke Newington, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of John Chalmers and Julia Mackay.1 He was baptised at Hornsea Parish Church, Hornsea, EnglandG.1 He married, firstly, Maud Mary Pigott, daughter of John George Forde Pigott and Elizabeth Anne Andrews, on 2 July 1888 at St. Mary's Church, Charing Cross Road, London, EnglandG.1 He married, secondly, Iris Florence Biles, daughter of Sir John Biles, on 1 June 1935.1 He died on 17 November 1938 at age 80 at 14 Crick Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, without survivng male issue.1 He was buried on 21 November 1938.1
