Charles MacCarty, Viscount Muskerry was the son of Donough MacCarty, 1st Earl of Clancarty and Eleanor Butler.1 He married Lady Margaret Bourke, daughter of Ulrick Bourke, 1st Marquess of Clanricarde and Lady Anne Compton, from 2 March 1659/60 to May 1661.1 He died on 3 June 1665, slain on board The Royal Charles, while fighting the Dutch.1 He was buried on 22 June 1665 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1
He succeeded as the Viscount Muskerry in 1662.1 He fought in the Dutch Wars.1

Lady Margaret Bourke was born at Kreny, Denmark.2 She was the daughter of Ulrick Bourke, 1st Marquess of Clanricarde and Lady Anne Compton.1 She married, firstly, Charles MacCarty, Viscount Muskerry, son of Donough MacCarty, 1st Earl of Clancarty and Eleanor Butler, from 2 March 1659/60 to May 1661.1 She married, secondly, Robert Villiers, son of Robert Danvers and Elizabeth Danvers, in 1676.1 She married, thirdly, Colonel Robert Feilding after 1684.1 She died in August 1698 at Somerhill, Tonbridge, Kent, EnglandG.1 She died intestate and her estate was administered to her husband on 2 May 1700.1

Charles James MacCarty, 2nd Earl of Clancarty was the son of Charles MacCarty, Viscount Muskerry and Lady Margaret Bourke.1 He died on 22 September 1666 at Kent, EnglandG, in infancy.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered to his mother on 15 February 1666/67.1
