     Patience Elizabeth Florita Thesiger was born on 20 March 1908.1 She was the daughter of Arthur Lionel Bruce Thesiger and Florita Maria Engracia Knight.2 She died on 13 March 2001 at age 92.1
     She was with the Auxiliary Territorial Service during the Second World War.1 She was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 She held the office of Mayor of Tunbridge Wells between 1969 and 1970.1 She was Vice-Chairman of the Kent County Council between 1982 and 1984.1 She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1994.1

Sir Bertram Sackville Thesiger1

     Sir Bertram Sackville Thesiger was born on 14 January 1875.1 He was the son of Hon. Sir Edward Pierson Thesiger and Georgina Mary Stopford.2 He married Violet Henley, daughter of Joseph Arthur Henley and Kate Isabella Graves, on 3 March 1921.1 He died on 12 May 1966 at age 91, without issue.1
     He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1911.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1916.1 He was awarded the Order of St. Anne of Russia 2nd Class with swords.1 He was awarded the U.S. Legion of Merit.1 He was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of Russia with swords.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hampshire.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V between 1921 and 1922.1 He was Admiral Superintendant of the Portsmouth Dockyard between 1925 and 1927.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the East Indies Station between 1927 and 1929.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Commodore in the Royal Naval Reserve, in charge of convoys and FOIC.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1942.1

Joseph Arthur Henley1

     Joseph Arthur Henley was born on 7 January 1856 at Shirburn, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was the son of Joseph John Henley and Agnes Walwyn Walrond.2 He married Kate Isabella Graves on 9 January 1877.2 He died on 24 November 1903 at age 47 at Oxfordshire, England.2
     He lived at Waterperry, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was Private Secretary to the Parliamentary Secretary in 1880.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Oxfordshire Militia.2

     Violet Henley was the daughter of Joseph Arthur Henley and Kate Isabella Graves.2,3 She married, firstly, William Brodrick Cloete before 1921.1 She married, secondly, Sir Bertram Sackville Thesiger, son of Hon. Sir Edward Pierson Thesiger and Georgina Mary Stopford, on 3 March 1921.1 She died on 21 May 1973.1
     From before 1921, her married name became Cloete.1 From 3 March 1921, her married name became Thesiger.
