Gavin George Carew was born on 21 September 1906.2 He was the son of Gerald Shapland Carew, 5th Baron Carew and Catherine Conolly.2 He married Aileen Hilda Frances Cecil, daughter of Ean Francis Cecil and Hilda Mary Daubeny Wemyss, on 30 April 1932.2 He died on 11 October 1997 at age 91.2
