Lt.-Gen. John Eden1

     Lt.-Gen. John Eden was born on 25 March 1789.2 He was the son of Thomas Eden and Mariana Jones.3 He married, firstly, Anne Caldwell, daughter of Sir John Caldwell, 6th Bt. and Jane Davidson, in August 1829 at Quebec, CanadaG.1 He married, secondly, Charlotte Carse Prentice, daughter of E. S. Prentice, on 4 July 1843.2 He died on 6 October 1864 at age 75.1 He was also reported to have died on 6 October 1874.2
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He had two other sons by his first wife, who died without issue.2

     Admiral Sir George Young was born on 17 June 1732.2 He was the son of Reverend George Young and Eleanor Knowles.3 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Bradshaw, daughter of Samuel Bradshaw, in 1763.3 He married, secondly, Anne Battie, daughter of Dr. William Battie and Anne Goode, in 1779.1,3 He died on 28 June 1810 at age 78 at Formosa Place, Cookham, Berkshire, EnglandG.3
     He fought in the Battle of Louisburg in 1758.2 He fought in the Battle of Quebec in 1759.2 He fought in the Battle of Havana in 1762.2 He fought in the Battle of Pondicherry in 1778.2 He gained the rank of Admiral of the White.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) on 15 February 1781.3 He was appointed Knight on 24 August 1781.3 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral on 4 July 1794.3 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral on 14 February 1799.3 He gained the rank of Admiral on 23 April 1804.3

     Katherine Battie is the daughter of Dr. William Battie and Anne Goode.2 She married John Rashleigh, son of Jonathan Rashleigh and Mary Clayton, on 1 April 1771 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.2 She died in 1800.1
     She was also known as Catherine Batty.2 From 1 April 1771, her married name became Rashleigh.2
