George Nicolson was the son of Lt.-Col. William Nicolson.2 He married Catherine Edmonstone.1 He died in 1769.1

Ann Nicolson was the daughter of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 1st Bt. and Isabel Henderson.2 She married Sir George Stirling, 6th of Keir and 3rd of Cawder, son of Sir James Stirling and Anna Home, in 1654.1 She died, without issue.2

Maj.-Gen. Sir William Nicolson of Carmock, 9th Bt. was born in 1758.1 He was the son of George Nicolson and Catherine Edmonstone.2 He married Mary Russell, daughter of John Russell and Eleanor Robertson, on 5 July 1804.1 He died on 5 August 1820.1
He was commissioned in 1778, in the service of the British Army and served in America, India, Ireland and Mauritius.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Nicolson, of Carnock, co. Stirling [N.S., 1637] on 19 October 1808.1
