     Elizabeth Deynsell is the daughter of Richard Deynsell.1 She married, firstly, Martin Fortescue, son of Sir John Fortescue and Isabella Jamys, on 10 September 1454.2 She married, secondly, Sir Richard Pomeroy after 1472.1
     From 10 September 1454, her married name became Fortescue.1 From after 1472, her married name became Pomeroy.1

     Sir John Fortescue was the son of Sir John Fortescu and Eleanor Norreis.2 He married Isabella Jamys, daughter of John Jamys.3 He died after 1472 at Ebrington, Gloucestershire, EnglandG, aged 90.3
     He wrote the book De Laudibus Legum Anglice.3 He held the office of Lord Chief Justice on 25 January 1442.3 He held the office of Lord Chancellor after 1461, allegedly created by King Henry VI after his deposition.3

     Arthur Chichester, 1st and last Baron Chichester of Belfast was born in May 1563 at Raleigh, Pilton, Devon, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Sir John Chichester and Gertrude Courtenay.1,3 He married Lettice Perrot, daughter of Sir John Perrot and Jane Prust, on 8 April 1605.4 He died on 19 February 1624/25 at age 61 at London, EnglandG, without issue.4 He was buried on 25 October 1625 at St. Nicholas Church, Carrickfergus, County Antrim, IrelandG.4 His will was proven (by probate) on 21 May 1625.4
     He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 15 March 1583.2 He fought in the Spanish Armada in 1588, as Captain of H.M.S. Larke.2 He fought in the Expedition to Cadiz in 1596, in charge of a company.2 He was appointed Knight in 1596.2 He was commander of the troops to Carrickfergus in 1599 assisting against the rebels.2 He held the office of Governor of Carrickfergus in 1599.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] on 19 April 1603.2 He held the office of Lord Deputy [Ireland] from 1 February 1604/5 to 29 November 1615.2 He was created 1st Baron Chichester of Belfast, co. Antrim [Ireland] on 23 February 1612/13.3 He held the office of Lord High Treasurer [Ireland] between 13 July 1616 and 1625.2 His last will was dated 29 October 1621. He was on an embassy to the Palatinate between 2 May 1622 and October 1622.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 31 December 1622.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.5

     Edward Chichester, 1st Viscount Chichester of Carrickfergus was born circa 1568.2 He was the son of Sir John Chichester and Gertrude Courtenay.1 He married, secondly, Mary Denham.3 He married, firstly, Anne Coplestone, daughter of John Coplestone and Dorothy Biston, on 4 July 1605.3 He died on 8 July 1648.3 He was buried at Eggesford, Devon, EnglandG.3 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 27 September 1648.4
     He was appointed Knight on 18 July 1616 at Theobalds, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.3 He held the office of Governor of Carrickfergus.3 He held the office of Governor of Culmore.3 He was Joint Commissioner of the Treasury [Ireland].3 He held the office of Admiral of Loughneagh.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)
