Colonel Hon. Hugh Mackay of Bighouse is the son of George Mackay, 3rd Lord Reay and Janet Sinclair.2 A contract for the marriage of Colonel Hon. Hugh Mackay of Bighouse and Margaret Mackay was signed on 15 July 1728.2 He married, secondly, Isabella Mackenzie, daughter of Alexander Mackenzie of Lentran, on 14 April 1770.2 He died on 12 November 1770.2
