Lt.-Col. William Gardner was born on 24 March 1691 at Coleraine, County Londonderry, Ireland.1 He was the son of William Gardner.2 He married Elizabeth ffarington, daughter of Valentine ffarington and Agnes Prickett, on 7 December 1729 at Preston, Lancashire, England.1 He died on 14 August 1762 at age 71.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 11th Regiment of Dragoons.2
