George Muff, 1st Baron Calverley was born on 10 February 1877.1 He was the son of George Muff and Sarah Jane Hodgson.2 He married Ellen Eliza Orford, daughter of Charles William Orford, on 27 July 1909.1 He died on 20 September 1955 at age 78.1
He was a textile worker in 1887.1 He held the office of Councillor for Bradford City Council between 1923 and 1929.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Labour) for Hull East between 1929 and 1931. He held the office of Councillor for Bradford City Council between 1933 and 1936.1 He was vice-president of the British Boys Brigade Movement.1

Ellen Eliza Orford was the daughter of Charles William Orford.2 She married George Muff, 1st Baron Calverley, son of George Muff and Sarah Jane Hodgson, on 27 July 1909.1 She died in 1965.1
From 27 July 1909, her married name became Muff. After her marriage, Ellen Eliza Orford was styled as Baroness Calverley on 17 November 1945.

George Raymond Orford Muff, 2nd Baron Calverley was born on 1 May 1914.1 He was the son of George Muff, 1st Baron Calverley and Ellen Eliza Orford.2 He married Mary Farrer, daughter of Arthur Farrer, on 21 December 1940.1 He died on 24 June 1971 at age 57.1
He was educated at Bradford Grammar School, Bradford, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1940 in the Royal Inian Army Ordnace Corps.1 He gained the rank of Second World War between 1940 and 1945.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Calverley, of the City of Bradford, in the West Riding of Yorkshire [U.K., 1945] on 20 September 1955.1
