     Sir John Powlett Orde, 2nd Bt. was born on 9 June 1803 at Gloucester Place, Marylebone, London, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of Admiral Sir John Orde, 1st Bt. and Jane Frere.3 He married, firstly, Eliza Woollery Campbell, daughter of Peter Campbell and Elizabeth Lois Woollery, on 15 June 1826 at Walton, Surrey, EnglandG.2 He married, secondly, Beatrice Edwards, daughter of James Edwards and Catherine Bromhead, on 14 June 1832.3 He died on 11 December 1878 at age 75 at Kilmory House, Argyllshire, ScotlandG.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 10 April 1821.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Orde, of Morpeth, co. Northumberland [G.B., 1790] on 19 February 1824.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1826 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1,2 In 1828 he inherited the esate of Kilmory from his first wife's father.4 He gained the rank of Captain in the Argyll and Bute Militia.2

     He was also known as Patrick.1 He lived between 1726 and 1733 at Westmorland, EnglandG.2 He was a planter at Fish River, Jamaica.1
