Captain Hon. Cornwallis Maude was born on 22 October 1852.2 He was the son of Cornwallis Maude, 1st and last Earl de Montalt of Dundrum and Clementina Elphinstone-Fleeming.1,2 He married Eva Henrietta Brooke, daughter of Francis Richard Brooke and Hon. Henrietta Monck, on 28 February 1878.1 He died on 27 February 1881 at age 28 at MajubaG, killed in action.1
