Sir Matthew Boynton, 1st Bt. was baptised on 26 January 1591 at Barmston, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Boynton and Dorothy Place.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Katharine Fairfax, daughter of Thomas Fairfax, 1st Viscount Fairfax of Emley and Catharine Constable.1 He married, firstly, Frances Griffith, daughter of Sir Henry Griffith, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Throckmorton, circa 27 September 1614.1 He died circa March 1646/47 at Highgate, London, EnglandG.1 He was buried on 12 March 1646/47 at St. Andrew's Church, Holborn, London, EnglandG.1
He was appointed Knight on 9 May 1618 at Whitehall, London, EnglandG.1 He was created 1st Baronet Boynton, of Barmston, co.
