Sir Walter Borrowes, 4th Bt.1

     Sir Walter Borrowes, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Kildare Borrowes, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Dixon.1 He married Mary Pottinger, daughter of Captain Edward Pottinger, on 18 March 1720.1 He died on 9 June 1741 at Colverstown, County Kildare, IrelandG.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 10 January 1742.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Borrowes, of Grangemellon, co. Kildare [I., 1646] circa May 1709.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Harristown [Ireland] between 1721 and 1727.1 On 5 March 1725 he inherited the estate of Colverstown from his uncle, Robert Dixon.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Athy [Ireland] between 1727 and 1741.1

Mary Pottinger1

     Mary Pottinger was the daughter of Captain Edward Pottinger.1 She married Sir Walter Borrowes, 4th Bt., son of Sir Kildare Borrowes, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Dixon, on 18 March 1720.1 She died on 28 September 1763.1 Her will was proven (by probate) in 1764.1
     From 18 March 1720, her married name became Borrowes.1

     Elizabeth Short was the daughter of John Short and Elizabeth Borrowes.1 She married Sir Kildare Dixon Borrowes, 5th Bt., son of Sir Walter Borrowes, 4th Bt. and Mary Pottinger, in February 1759.1 She died on 23 August 1766.1
     From February 1759, her married name became Borrowes.1
