     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Tank Corps.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1924 in the 11th Hussars.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of Australia between 1929 and 1930.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was commander of the Southern Rhodesia Armoured Car Regiment.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Down in 1944.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 11th Hussars.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Down in 1946.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Tyrone in 1954.1 He lived at Beltrim Castle, Gortin, County Tyrone, IrelandG.3
