     Frances Theophilus Blunt was born on 7 July 1837.1 He was the son of Reverend Edward Powlett Blunt and Caroline Anne Clavell.1 He married, firstly, Mary Ann Pearson, daughter of Walker Pearson and Mary Ann (?), on 7 September 1859 at Saugor, Bengal, India.1,2 He married Emily Ellen Hobert Rainsford, daughter of Bennington Robert Rainsford, on 21 August 1870.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 12th Lancers.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 7 Dragoon Guards.1 He held the office of Chief Commissioner of the Seychelle Islands.1
