John William Ramsay, 13th Earl of Dalhousie was born on 29 January 1847 at Aberdour House, Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Admiral George Ramsay, 12th Earl of Dalhousie and Sarah Frances Robertson.1 He married Lady Ida Louisa Bennet, daughter of Charles Augustus Bennet, 6th Earl of Tankerville and Lady Olivia Montagu, on 6 December 1877 at St. James, Westminster, London, EnglandG.2 He died on 25 November 1887 at age 40 at Hotel Frascati, Le Havre, FranceG.2
