Sir Thomas Bishopp, 1st Bt. was born circa 1550.1 He was the son of Thomas Bishopp and Elizabeth Belknap.1 He married, secondly, Jane Weston, daughter of Sir Richard Weston and Jane Dister.1 He married, firstly, Anne Cromer, daughter of William Cromer, on 19 September 1577.1 He died in 1626.1
He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1573.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Gatton from 1584 to 1585.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Steyning from 1586 to 1587.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Surrey from 1586 to 1587.1 In 1597 he purchased the estate of Parham, Sussex.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Sussex from 1601 to 1602.1 He was appointed Knight on 7 May 1603 at Theobalds, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Steyning between 1604 and 1611.1 He was created 1st Baronet Bishopp, of Parham, co. Sussex [England] on 24 July 1620.1
