Gordon Travers Birdwood was born on 24 January 1867.1 He was the son of Herbert Mills Birdwood and Edith Marion Sidonie Impey.1 He married, firstly, Dora Davis, daughter of John Samuel Champion Davis, in 1902.1 He married, secondly, Alice Caroline Finlay, daughter of Colonel Henry Thomas Finlay, after 1905.1 He died on 14 April 1945 at age 78.1
