William Brabazon Ponsonby, 4th Baron Ponsonby of Imokilly1

     William Brabazon Ponsonby, 4th Baron Ponsonby of Imokilly was born on 18 August 1807.1 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Hon. Richard Ponsonby and Frances Staples.1 He died on 10 September 1866 at age 59, from Bright's disease, unmarried, on board his yacht off Plymouth.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 27 October 1866, at under £16,000.1
     He gained the rank of Ensign on 13 December 1827 in the 7th Royal Fusiliers.1 He gained the rank of Captain on 23 February 1838.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Ponsonby of Imokilly, co. Cork [I., 1806] on 2 October 1861.1
     On his death, his Barony became extinct.2
