     Winifred Letitia Borthwick was born on 3 June 1936.1 She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Algernon Malcolm Borthwick and Edith Wylde Addison.1 She married Sir Stephen Tumim on 1 February 1962.1 She died on 5 November 2009 at age 73, from a heart attack.2
     She graduated from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 From 1 February 1962, her married name became Tumim.1 She was a Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery in 1992.1 She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1992.1 She lived in 2003 at River House, 24 Upper Mall, London, EnglandG.1

     He was Chief Inspector of Prisons between 1987 and 1995.2 He was appointed Knight in 1995.2
