     Sir Thomas Bernard, 3rd Bt. was born on 27 April 1750 at Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Francis Bernard, 1st Bt. and Amelia Offley.¹ He married, firstly, Margaret Adair, daughter of Patrick Adair, on 11 May 1782.¹ He married, secondly, Charlotte Matilda Hulse, daughter of Sir Edward Hulse, 2nd Bt. and Hannah Vanderplank, on 15 June 1815 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ He died on 1 July 1818 at age 68 at Leamington, Warwickshire, England^G, without issue.¹ He was buried on 10 July 1818 at Chapel of the Founding Hospital, London, England^G.¹
     He was educated at New Jersey, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was educated at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1780 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He graduated in 1801 with a Master of Arts (M.A.), by the Archbishop of Canterbury.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Bernard, of Nettleham, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1769] on 16 August 1809.¹ He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G, with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)¹ He lived at Nether Winchendon House, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Margaret Adair was the daughter of Patrick Adair.¹ She married Sir Thomas Bernard, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Francis Bernard, 1st Bt. and Amelia Offley, on 11 May 1782.¹ She died on 6 January 1813.¹ She was buried at Chapel of the Founding Hospital, London, England^G.¹
     From 11 May 1782, her married name became Bernard.¹

     Charlotte Matilda Hulse was born in 1765.³ She was the daughter of Sir Edward Hulse, 2nd Bt. and Hannah Vanderplank.^1,4 She married Sir Thomas Bernard, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Francis Bernard, 1st Bt. and Amelia Offley, on 15 June 1815 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ She died on 20 July 1846.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) in August 1846.¹
     From 15 June 1815, her married name became Bernard.¹

     Hannah Vanderplank was the daughter of Samuel Vanderplank.¹ She married Sir Edward Hulse, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Edward Hulse, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Levett, on 23 February 1741/42.² She died on 16 December 1803.²
     From 23 February 1741/42, her married name became Hulse.

     Samuel Vanderplank was born at Romsey, Hampshire, England.²
