     Sir John Lowther, 1st Bt. was born in April 1759.² He was the son of Rev. Sir William Lowther, 1st Bt. and Anne Zouch.¹ He married Lady Elizabeth Fane, daughter of John Fane, 9th Earl of Westmorland and Lady Susan Gordon, on 4 September 1790.² He died on 11 May 1844 at age 85.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)² He was created 1st Baronet Lowther, of Swillington, co. York [U.K.] on 3 November 1824.²

     Dorothy Maude Isabel Harvey was the daughter of John Selwyn Harvey.¹ She married, firstly, Gordon Bois.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Henry Cecil Lowther, son of Hon. William Lowther and Hon. Charlotte Alice Parke, on 28 June 1920.¹ She died on 3 October 1967.¹
     Her married name became Bois.¹ Her married name became Lowther.

     Mildred Alice Lowther was the daughter of Hon. William Lowther and Hon. Charlotte Alice Parke.¹ She died on 8 September 1876.¹

     John Talbot Clifton was born on 5 March 1819.¹ He was the son of Thomas Joseph Clifton and Hetty Treves.¹ He married Lady Eleanor Cecily Lowther, daughter of Colonel Hon. Henry Cecil Lowther and Lady Lucy Eleanor Sherard, on 22 April 1844.² He died on 16 April 1882 at age 63 at Hamman Rhea, Algeria.³ He was buried at St. Cuthbert's Church, Lytham, Lancashire, England^G.³

     Sir Robert Worsley, 3rd Bt. was born in 1669.³ He was the son of Sir Henry Worsley, 2nd Bt. He married Mary Herbert, daughter of Hon. James Herbert and Jane Spiller.¹ He died in 1742.³
     He gained the title of 3rd Baronet Worsley, of Appuldurcombe, Isle of Wight.¹

     Edward Noel, 1st Earl of Gainsborough was baptised on 27 January 1640/41 at Boughton Malherbe, Kent, England^G.¹ He was the son of Baptist Noel, 3rd Viscount Campden and Hon. Hester Wotton.¹ He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Wriothesley, daughter of Thomas Wriothesley, 4th Earl of Southampton and Rachel de Massue, in May 1661.² He married, secondly, Mary Herbert, daughter of Hon. James Herbert and Jane Spiller, on 23 April 1683.³ He died in January 1688/89.³
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Rutland between 1661 and 1678.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire between 1678 and 1687.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hampshire between February 1679 and July 1679.² He was created 1st Baron Noel of Titchfield, co. Southampton [England] on 3 February 1680/81, with a special remainder to his brothers, Baptist and John Noel.⁴ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland between 1682 and 1687.² He held the office of Governor of Portsmouth between 1682 and 1687.² He succeeded as the 4th Baron Hicks of Ilmington, co. Warwick [E., 1628] on 29 October 1682.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Campden, co. Gloucester [E., 1628] on 29 October 1682.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Noel of Ridlington, co. Rutland [E., 1617] on 29 October 1682.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Noel [E., 1611] on 29 October 1682. He was created 1st Earl of Gainsborough, co. Lincoln [England] on 1 December 1682, with a special remainder to his brothers, Baptist and John Noel.⁴ He held the office of Warden of the New Forest.²

     Lt.-Gen. Robert Blucher Wood was born on 3 July 1814 at Littleton, Chertsey, Surrey, England.² He married Constantia Lowther, daughter of Colonel Hon. Henry Cecil Lowther and Lady Lucy Eleanor Sherard, on 24 July 1850 at London, England.^1,2 He died on 27 May 1871 at age 56 at Buxton, Derbyshire, England.²
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)³ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General.²

     Ruth Rushforth was the daughter of Arthur Norman Rushforth.¹ She married Edmund Patrick Grove Annesley, son of Richard Arthur Grove Annesley and Hilda Margaret Workman-Macnaghten, on 7 December 1939.¹ She died on 15 March 2007 at Amberley Home, Fermoy, County Cork, Ireland^G.^2,3
     From 7 December 1939, her married name became Grove Annesley.¹ She lived in 1999 at Annes Grove, Castletownroche, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     Sidney Herbert, 1st Baron Herbert of Lea was born on 16 September 1810.² He was the son of General George Augustus Herbert, 11th Earl of Pembroke and Catherine Woronzow.² He married Mary Elizabeth à Court Repington, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Charles Ashe à Court Repington and Mary Elizabeth Catherine Gibbs, on 12 August 1846.³ He died on 2 August 1861 at age 50.²
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.² He was President of Oxford Union in 1830.² He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1831 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Wiltshire between 1832 and 1861.² He was Joint Secretary of the Board of Control between January 1835 and April 1835.² He held the office of Secretary of the Admiralty between 1841 and 1845.² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1845.² He held the office of Secretary for War between 1845 and 1846.² He held the office of Secretary for War between 1852 and 1855.² He held the office of Colonial Secretary between 8 February 1855 and 22 February 1855.² He was Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery between 1856 and 1861.² He held the office of Secretary for War between 1859 and 1861.² He was created 1st Baron Herbert of Lea, co.      Frederick Oliver Robinson, 2nd Marquess of Ripon was born on 29 January 1852.¹ He was the son of George Frederick Samuel Robinson, 1st Marquess of Ripon and Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner.¹ He married Lady Constance Gwladys Herbert, daughter of Sidney Herbert, 1st Baron Herbert of Lea and Mary Elizabeth à Court Repington, on 7 May 1885.^1,2 He died on 22 September 1923 at age 71.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ripon between 1874 and 1880.¹ He held the office of Treasurer to HM Queen Alexandra in 1901.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Robinson, of Newby, co. York [E., 1690] on 9 July 1909.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Goderich [U.K., 1827] on 9 July 1909.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Ripon, co. York [U.K., 1833] on 9 July 1909.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Marquess of Ripon [U.K., 1871] on 9 July 1909.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Earl de Grey of Wrest, co. Bedford [U.K., 1816] on 9 July 1909.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baron Grantham, of Grantham, co.
