Lady Mary Frances Cecil was the daughter of Brownlow Cecil, 2nd Marquess of Exeter and Isabella Poyntz.1 She married Dudley Francis Stuart Ryder, 3rd Earl of Harrowby, son of Dudley Ryder, 2nd Earl of Harrowby and Lady Frances Stuart, on 3 October 1861.1 She died on 27 July 1917.1

John Herbert Dudley Ryder, 5th Earl of Harrowby was born on 22 August 1864.2 He was the son of Henry Ryder, 4th Earl of Harrowby and Susan Juliana Maria Hamilton Dent.1 He married Hon. Mabel Danvers Smith, daughter of Rt. Hon. William Henry Smith and Emily Danvers, Viscountess Hambleden, on 16 November 1887.2 He died on 30 March 1956 at age 91.2
He was a partner of Coutts & Company.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Gravesend between 1898 and 1900.2 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Harrowby, co. Lincoln [U.K., 1809] on 11 December 1900.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Harrowby, of Harrowby, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1776] on 11 December 1900.1 He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Sandon, of Sandon, co. Emma Andalusia Frere Kennedy was born on 20 October 1861.2 She was the daughter of Lord Nigel Kennedy and Catherine Anne May.3 She married, firstly, Lionel George Henry Seymour Dawson-Damer, 5th Earl of Portarlington, son of Lionel Seymour William Dawson-Damer, 4th Earl of Portarlington and Hon. Harriet Lydia Montagu, on 25 October 1881.1 She married, secondly, Henry Berkeley Portman, 3rd Viscount Portman of Bryanston, son of William Henry Berkeley Portman, 2nd Viscount Portman of Bryanston and Hon. Mary Selina Charlotte FitzWilliam, on 25 September 1901.1 She died on 13 May 1929 at age 67.1
From 25 October 1881, her married name became Dawson-Damer. After her marriage, Emma Andalusia Frere Kennedy was styled as Countess of Portarlington on 17 December 1892.
