Aubrey de Vere, 2nd Earl of Oxford1

     Aubrey de Vere, 2nd Earl of Oxford was born circa 1163.1 He was the son of Aubrey de Vere, 1st Earl of Oxford and Agnes de Essex.1,2 He married, firstly, Isabel de Bolebec, daughter of Walter de Bolebec, before 1206.3 He married, secondly, Alice le Bigod, daughter of Roger le Bigod, 2nd Earl of Norfolk and Ida de Tosny, after 1207.1 He died from January 1214 to October 1214, without legitimate issue.3,1
     He held the office of Hereditary Master Chamberlain of England between 1194 and 1214.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Oxford [E., 1142] on 26 December 1194.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Essex.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Hertfordshire between 1208 and 1213.1 He held the office of Steward of the Forest of Essex in 1213.1

     Major Francis Edward Hudson was born on 10 June 1912.2 He was the son of Edward Hudson and Eleanor Marian Johnston.2,3 He married Masha Muirhead-Murray, daughter of Lt.-Col. Murray Muirhead-Murray and Violet Edith Vavasour, in June 1944. He died on 10 September 2002 at age 90 at Winterfield House, Bedale, Yorkshire, EnglandG.2
     Major Francis Edward Hudson usually went by his middle name of Tony.2 He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.2 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)4 He was a direct of Robert Hudson Ltd.2 He was chairman of Langham Manufacturing circa 1965.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of North Yorkshire in 1981.2 He was chairman of the Yorkshire Post between July 1981 and 1983.2 He lived at Winterfield House, Bedale, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1

Lt.-Col. James Howard Adolphus Annesley1

     Lt.-Col. James Howard Adolphus Annesley was born on 3 March 1868.1 He was the son of Captain Francis Charles Annesley and Matilda Rochfort.1 He married Helene Marie Johnston, daughter of Charles Edward Johnston, on 29 November 1900.1 He died on 22 April 1919 at age 51.1
     He fought in the Tirah Campaign between 1897 and 1898, where he was mentioned in despatches, and won a medal with two clasps.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was again mentioned in despatches, and won two medals with eight clasps.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers.)1 He fought in the First World War, where he was once again mentioned in despatches, and was wounded.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1917.1

     Helene Marie Johnston was the daughter of Charles Edward Johnston.1 She married Lt.-Col. James Howard Adolphus Annesley, son of Captain Francis Charles Annesley and Matilda Rochfort, on 29 November 1900.1 She died on 13 April 1949.1
     From 29 November 1900, her married name became Annesley.1
