     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.¹

     Edith Mary Leslie-Melville was the daughter of Alexander Samuel Leslie-Melville and Hon. Albinia Frances Brodrick.^1,2 She married Thomas Walter Bacon, son of Sir Henry Hickman Bacon, 10th and 11th Bt. and Elizabeth Beckett, on 30 May 1901.¹ She died on 18 April 1950.¹
     From 30 May 1901, her married name became Bacon.¹
