     Sir Ralph Assheton, 2nd Bt. was born on 11 February 1651.² He was the son of Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Bt. and Anne Assheton.^1,2 He was baptised on 19 February 1651 at Middleton, Lancashire, England^G.² He married, firstly, Mary Vavasour, daughter of Thomas Vavasour and Dorothy Leigh.² He married, secondly, Mary Hyde, daughter of Robert Hyde.² He died on 3 May 1716 at age 65, without surviving male issue.² He was buried at Middleton, Lancashire, England^G.² His will (dated 8 July 1709 to 6 April 1716) was proven (by probate) on 13 February 1716/17.²
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Assheton, of Middleton, co. Lancaster [E., 1660] on 23 April 1665.² He matriculated at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 16 July 1668.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool between March 1677 and 1679.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lancashire between February 1694 and 1698.² On 11 June 1696 he inherited the estate of Whalley from his unle, Sir John Assheton, 4th Bt.¹

     Radclyffe Assheton was born in 1582.² He was the son of Ralph Assheton and Johanna Radclyffe.¹ He married Elizabeth Hyde, daughter of John Hyde.² He died on 19 January 1644.²
     He was also known as Radcliffe Assheton.³ He was Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of Lancashire in 1608.² In 1614 he bought with his father the Hall and Manor of Cuerdale.² He lived at Cuerdale, Walton, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     John Assheton was the son of Radclyffe Assheton and Elizabeth Hyde.^2,3 He married Anne Shuttleworth, daughter of Richard Shuttleworth.¹ He died in October 1642, from wounds received in action.¹
     He lived at Cuerdale, Walton, Lancashire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain of Foot in the Royalist Army.¹ He fought in the Battle of Edgehill in October 1642.¹

     Richard Assheton was born circa 1642.² He was the son of John Assheton and Anne Shuttleworth.^1,3 He married Mary Pigott, daughter of George Pigott, in 1665.² He died in 1709.²
     In 1695 He inherited the estate of Downham from Sir John Assheton, 4th Bt.¹ He lived at Downham, Lancashire, England^G.³ He lived at Cuerdale, Walton, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Bt. was born on 9 July 1626 at Denby Grange, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Ralph Assheton and Elizabeth Kaye.¹ He married Anne Assheton, daughter of Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Bt. and Eleanor Shuttleworth, circa 1647.¹ He died on 23 April 1665 at age 38.¹ He was buried at Middleton, Lancashire, England^G.¹
     He was admitted to Gray's Inn on 13 August 1639.¹ He was appointed Knight on 16 July 1660.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Assheton, of Middleton, co. Lancaster [England] on 17 August 1660.¹

     Ralph Assheton was the son of Richard Assheton and Mary Venables.² He died on 17 February 1650/51.¹
     He was also known as Ralph Ashton.¹ He was Commander-in-Chief of the Parliamentarian army in Lancashire.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Clitheroe.¹ He lived at Middleton, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     Her married name became Assheton.¹
