John Brooke, 1st and last Baron Cobham1

     John Brooke, 1st and last Baron Cobham was the son of Sir Henry Brooke and Anne Sutton.1 He married, firstly, Anne (?) before 21 January 1608/9.1 He married, secondly, Frances Bamfield, daughter of Sir William Bamfield and Anne (?), before October 1636.1 He died circa May 1660, without surviving issue.1 He was buried on 20 May 1660 at Wakerley, Northamptonshire, EnglandG.1
     He was appointed Knight in January 1611/12.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Gatton in 1614.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Oxford Borough from 1621 to 1622.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Great Bedwin in 1625.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Appleby between 1640 and 1643.1 He was created 1st Baron Cobham [England] on 3 January 1644/45.1 He lived at Heckington, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.1 On his death, his title became extinct.1

     Elizabeth Brooke was born on 25 June 1526.1 She was the daughter of George Brooke, 9th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Anne Bray. She married William Parr, 1st Marquess of Northampton, son of Sir Thomas Parr and Maud Green, in a bigamous marriage.2,1 She died on 2 April 1565 at age 38.
     Her married name became Parr.2

     Abel Ward was born in 1716 at Whitgreave, Staffordshire, England.1 He was the son of Thomas Ward and Mary Peploe.1 He married Anne Bayley, daughter of James Bayley and Anne Peploe, on 18 April 1750.1 He died on 1 October 1785.1
     He was Prebendary of Chester in 1751 at Chester Cathedral, Chester, Cheshire, England.1 He held the office of Arch Deacon of Chester.1

     Sir Thomas Gower, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1605.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Gower, 1st Bt. and Anne D'Oyley.2 He married, secondly, Frances Leveson, daughter of Sir John Leveson and Frances Sondes.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Howard, daughter of Sir William Howard and Mary Eure.1 He died circa 1 September 1672.1 He was buried on 3 September 1672.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Gower [E., 1620] on 12 June 1655.1

     Sir William Leveson-Gower, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Gower, 2nd Bt. and Frances Leveson.1 He married Lady Jane Granville, daughter of John Granville, 1st Earl of Bath and Jane Wyche.2 He died in December 1691.
     He was given the name of William Gower at birth.1 Circa 1668 his name was legally changed to William Leveson-Gower on inheriting his great-uncle Sir Richard Leveson's Trentham, Staffordshire estate.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Merton between February 1673 and March 1673.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle-under-Lyme between 1675 and 1681.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Shropshire in 1681.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle-under-Lyme between 1689 and 1691.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Gower [E., 1620] on 28 October 1689.3
