Lt.-Col. Henry Halford Dawes1

     Lt.-Col. Henry Halford Dawes was the son of Sir Edwyn Sandys Dawes and Lucy Emily Bagnall.1 He married, firstly, Dorothy Harriet Armytage, daughter of Lt.-Col. Arthur Henry Armytage and Katherine Harriet Creyke, on 13 February 1908.1 He married, secondly, Pauline Octavia Legard, daughter of Colonel Sir James Digby Legard and Julia Helen Arkwright, on 30 September 1936.2 He died on 17 February 1940.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal East Kent Yeomanry.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1

     Sir Edwyn Sandys Dawes was born on 27 January 1838 at Dilhorne, Staffordshire, England.2 He was born on 27 January 1838 at All Saints, Dilhorne, Staffordshire, England.3 He was the son of Reverend Charles Thomas Dawes and Mary Henrietta Sherwood.3 He married Lucy Emily Bagnall, daughter of William Bagnall and Lydia Ann Smith, on 25 April 1859 at White Ladies' Aston, Worcestershire, England.2 He died on 22 December 1903 at age 65 at Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.2
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1884.1,2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)4 He lived at Mount Ephram, Kent, EnglandG.1

     Major Humphrey Ernest Bowman was born on 26 July 1879.2 He was the son of John Frederick Bowman and Cecilia Charrington.1,3 He married, firstly, Frances Guinevere Armytage, daughter of Lt.-Col. Arthur Henry Armytage and Katherine Harriet Creyke, on 2 December 1916.2 He married, secondly, Elinor Marion Conybeare, daughter of Reverend Charles Conybeare, on 20 August 1925.2 He died on 23 March 1965 at age 85.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1905 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He was with the Egyptian Civil Service.2 He was awarded the Commander, Order of the Nile.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.2 He gained the rank of Temporary Major in 1920 in the Royal Fusiliers.2 He was Director of Education for Palestine between 1920 and 1936.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1936.2 He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)2 He was with the Foreign Office between 1941 and 1945.2

     John Frederick Bowman was born on 1 November 1850.2 He was the son of Sir William Bowman, 1st Bt. and Harriet Paget.3 He married Cecilia Charrington, daughter of Edward Charrington, on 8 July 1875.2 He died on 21 December 1914 at age 64.2
     He lived at Garramor, Arisaig.1
