John Lyon, 3rd Lord Glamis was the son of Patrick Lyon, 1st Lord Glamis and Isabel Ogilvy.2 He married Elizabeth Scrymgeour, daughter of Sir John Scrymgeour and Marion Abernethy, before 1450.2 He died on 1 April 1497.
