     Lt.-Col. Archibald Hugh Arbuthnot was born on 7 December 1875.1 He was the son of Major Archibald Ernest Arbuthnot and Anne Elizabeth Ball.1 He married, firstly, Gertrude Alice Green, daughter of Reverend Frederick Charles Green, on 25 February 1900.1 He married, secondly, Marjory Beech, daughter of Reverend Howard Beech, on 2 February 1920.1 He died on 3 January 1957 at age 81.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 7th Gurkha Rifles, Indian Army.1 He was Commander of the Field Force to the Persian Frontier between 1913 and 1914.1 He was Commander of the Field Force to the Naga Hills in 1916.1 He fought in the Third Afghan War in 1919.1 He fought in the campaign with the Zhob Valley Field Force in 1922, where he was invalided.1 He lived at The Old Malthouse, Yapton, Arundel, Sussex, EnglandG.2

     Gertrude Alice Green was the daughter of Reverend Frederick Charles Green.1 She married Lt.-Col. Archibald Hugh Arbuthnot, son of Major Archibald Ernest Arbuthnot and Anne Elizabeth Ball, on 25 February 1900.1 She died on 11 November 1918.1
     From 25 February 1900, her married name became Arbuthnot.1

Archibald Hugh Arbuthnot and Gertrude Alice Green.1 He married, firstly, Molly Irene Frances Weeks, daughter of Arthur William Weeks, on 2 July 1935.1 He and Molly Irene Frances Weeks were divorced in 1954.1 He married, secondly, Emma Mary Bell, daughter of Reverend Gilbert Ambrose Bell, on 18 February 1955.1 He died on 2 January 1959 at age 58.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Second World War in 1939.1
