Charles Alexander Douglas-Home, 12th Earl of Home was born on 11 April 1834 at The Hirsel, Coldstream, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Cospatrick Alexander Home, 11th Earl of Home and Hon. Lucy Elizabeth Montagu-Scott.1 He married Maria Grey, daughter of Captain Charles Conrad Grey and Caroline Nesbit Macan, on 18 August 1870.2 He died on 30 April 1918 at age 84 at The Hirsel, Coldstream, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.2
