     Ralph Basset was born before 1221. He was the son of Ralph Basset.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth de Colville before 1231.2 He married, secondly, Milicent of Chaucombe, daughter of Robert of Chaucombe and Julian (?), in 1231.1 He died circa 1282.1
     On 24 December 1264 he was summoned to Parliament, but this summons did not create a barony by writ, as it was 'in rebellion.1' On 24 May 1282 he was summoned against the Welsh.3

     Milicent of Chaucombe is the daughter of Robert of Chaucombe and Julian (?)1,2 She married Ralph Basset, son of Ralph Basset, in 1231.1

Simon Basset1

     Simon Basset was the son of Ralph Basset and Milicent of Chaucombe.1 He died before 1295.1
     On 28 June 1283 he was summoned to attend King Edward I at Shrewsbury.1 On 8 June 1294 he was summoned to attend King Edward I wherever he might be.1 On 14 June 1294 he was summoned to accompnay King Edward I to Gascony.1

     Ralph Basset was the son of Simon Basset.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Colvill, daughter of Roger Colvill and Margaret Brewes.1 He married, secondly, Margaret (?) before 21 July 1295.1 He died in 1322.1
     On 6 March 1299/0 he was Knight of the Shire for Staffordshire.1 In 1316 at Cheadle, Staffordshire, EnglandG, he was lord of one of the two manors.1
