     Lt.-Col. Almeric Arthur William Spencer was born on 21 November 1874.1 He was the son of Colonel Almeric George Spencer and Alice Isabel Fraser.1 He married Sybil Lawson, daughter of Frederick William Lawson, on 16 October 1907.2 He and Sybil Lawson were divorced in 1927.2 He married Charlotte Parker, daughter of Reverend John Leslie Parker, on 22 July 1930.2 He died on 21 October 1934 at age 59.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the West Yorkshire Regiment.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.1

George Douglas, 1st Earl of Angus1,2

     George Douglas, 1st Earl of Angus was born before 1378 illegitimately.2 He was the son of William Douglas, 1st Earl of Douglas and Margaret Stewart, Countess of Angus.3,2 A contract for the marriage of George Douglas, 1st Earl of Angus and Lady Mary Stewart was signed on 24 May 1397.1 He died after September 1402 at England from the Bubonic Plague.4,5
     He was created 1st Earl of Angus [Scotland] on 9 April 1389.4 He fought in the Battle of Homildon Hill on 14 September 1402, where he was captured by the English.4 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.6

     William Douglas, 2nd Earl of Angus was born circa 1398.1 He was the son of George Douglas, 1st Earl of Angus and Lady Mary Stewart.1 He married Margaret Hay, daughter of Sir William Hay of Lochorwart and Yester and Alice de la Haye, on 3 December 1414.2,3 He and Margaret Hay were engaged on 12 December 1410.2 He died in October 1437.2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Angus [S., 1389] in 1402.2 In 1423 he was one of the negotiators for the release of King James I.2 He held the office of Ambassador to England in 1430.2 He held the office of Warden of the Middle Marches in 1433.2 He fought in the Battle of Piperdon on 10 September 1436, where he defeated the English.2,3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of Nationary Biography.4

     Margaret Hay was the daughter of Sir William Hay of Lochorwart and Yester and Alice de la Haye.1,2 She married William Douglas, 2nd Earl of Angus, son of George Douglas, 1st Earl of Angus and Lady Mary Stewart, on 3 December 1414.3,2 She and William Douglas, 2nd Earl of Angus were engaged on 12 December 1410.3 She died after 22 April 1484.1
     From 3 December 1414, her married name became Douglas. After her marriage, Margaret Hay was styled as Countess of Angus circa 1425.3

     Sir William Hay of Lochorwart and Yester was the son of Sir Thomas Haya of Lochorwart and Jean Gifford.3,4 He married Alice de la Haye, daughter of Sir Thomas de la Haye, 7th of Erroll and Elizabeth Stewart.3 He died in 1421.5
