Thomas Courtenay, 6th Earl of Devon was born in 1432.1 He was the son of Thomas Courtenay, 5th Earl of Devon and Lady Margaret Beaufort.1 He died on 3 April 1461, executed, unmarried.1
He succeeded as the 7th Lord Courtenay [E., 1299] on 3 February 1458.2 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Devon [E., 1335] on 3 February 1458.2 He held the office of Keeper of Exmoor Forest in 1459.2 He fought in the Battle of Towton on 29 March 1461.2 All of his honours became forfeited.2

He would have succeded to the Earldom in 1461, but for its attainder by the Yorkists; was restored to part of the Devon estates by Edward IV 1461; but continuing to plot on behalf of the Red Rose, was himself arraigned before Edward IV and justices at Salisbury, 4 May 1466, and beheaded with Lord Hungerford on the same day.

Lady Margaret de Neville was born circa 1384.2,3 She was the daughter of Sir Thomas de Neville and Joan Furnivall.1 She married Thomas de Beaufort, 1st Duke of Exeter, son of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster and Katherine Roët, before 15 February 1403/4.1 She died between 1413 and 1426, without issue.1 She was buried at Lady Chapel, Bury St. Edmonds Abbey, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
From before 15 February 1403/4, her married name became Beaufort. She was appointed Lady Companion, Order of the Garter (L.G.) in 1408.1
