     Lord William Richard Percy was born on 17 May 1882. He was the son of Henry George Percy, 7th Duke of Northumberland and Lady Edith Campbell.2 He married Mary Campbell Swinton, daughter of Captain George Sitwell Campbell Swinton and Elizabeth Ebsworth, on 25 July 1922.2 He died on 8 February 1963 at age 80.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1906 entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice and was wounded.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.2 He was Assistant Director of Military Intelligence, Imperial General Staff in 1919.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.2 He was awarded the Commander, Order of King George I of Greece.2

     Eustace Sutherland Campbell Percy, 1st and last Baron Percy of Newcastle was born on 21 March 1887.1 He was the son of Henry George Percy, 7th Duke of Northumberland and Lady Edith Campbell.1,3 He married Stella Katherine Drummond, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Laurence George Drummond and Katherine Mary Antrobus, on 4 December 1918.1 He died on 3 April 1958 at age 71.1
