He and Hella von Ramin were divorced in 1942.² He married, thirdly, Marianne Liselotte Diefenthal, daughter of Peter Diefenthal and Elisabeth Blum, on 12 August 1950 at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany^G.² He died on 17 October 1951 at age 58 at Schrozberg, Wurttemberg, Germany^G.¹
