20 august 2022 - Gore Cross Interchange, Imber Range Path, nr. Warminster. A swathe of land East of Warminster is owned by the British Military for the purposes of training, using live ammunition. As such, it is normally strictly out of bounds for the public. However, each year the area is opened for the public; many of whom take the opportunity to visit the `lost` village of Imber and the church there. For one day each year, a dedicated bus service to Imber village and other villages bordering the plain is operated by a fleet of vintage and classic buses; many of which from London. At Gore Cross, passengers can change between buses to travel to other parts of this one-day network on the plain. Seen here approaching Gore Cross Interchange are a pair of iconic AEC Routemaster buses.
