Other Information | Linjebuss entered the Danish market in 1990 through its Danish subsidiary, Linjebus A/S. Linjebus A/S was succesful in the Second Procurement of Hovedstadsområdets Trafikselskab (HT) in 1989, and from 1 April 1990 Linjebus A/S became the biggest operator of the HT operating several urban bus routes in the Copenhagen Area (until 31 March 1990 operated by Hvidovre Rutebiler) and the urban bus routes in Roskilde and Taastrup. Linjebus A/S began its activity with a rolling stock of second hand vehicles taken over from several other operators of the HT, and Linjebus A/S took over the depot of Hvidovre Rutebiler I/S in Hvidovre and the depot of Roskilde Omnibusselskab ApS in Roskilde. In 1992 Linjebus A/S purchased DSV Bus A/S, which operated the Copenhagen urban bus routes 12, 13 and 18 and took over the rolling stock of DSV Bus A/S. Linjebus A/S expanded in 1992 after having been succesful in the Third Procurement of the HT. The rolling stock was indreased partly with new vehicles and partly with several second hand vehicles taken over from the HT itself. One of the major new deliveries in 1992 were 28 vehicles from DAB built on Volvo B10M-60 chassis (vehicles nos. 8001-8028). Linjebus A/S continued its expansion at the Fourth Procurement of the HT in 1994 reaching a market share of more than 25 per cent of the public bus service under the HT. The name of the Company, Linjebus A/S, was changed to Connex in 2000 and in 2006 to Veolia Transport Danmark A/S. |
