| Other Information | This company was formed with the takeover of various operators by the First Group. This included People`s Provincial in 1995 around Portsmouth, Fareham and Gosport. A year later more services in Portsmouth were bought by the First Group, namely Red Admiral and Blue Admiral. These operations traded as First Provincial. Southampton Citybus was purchased in 1997 and operated as First Southampton. Southern National was purchased by First in 1999 as well. In 1999 the operations were merged into First Hampshire and in 2003 the company was renamed First Hampshire & Dorset. Southampton depot was closed in February 2023, with First closing all it`s operations in the city. This marks the end of the former Southampton Citybus and it`s predecessor Southampton Corporation Transport which started in 1898. Depots : - Hoeford - Hilsea - Weymouth | |||
