Other Information | Metroline is one of the biggest bus operators in London. Metroline was formed in 1989 when London Buses was split up into eleven different companies. In 1994 privatisation of these eleven companies took place. In 1998, Metroline purchased the operation of MTL London Northern. In 2000 the company was taken over by ComfortDelGro, a multinational company from Singapore. 2004 saw the takeover of two independent bus companies in London by Metroline, first Thorpes and later in the year Armchair. The coach business of Armchair was merged into ComfortDelGro`s London coach operation, Westbus. Metroline took over a number of First London depots (Alperton, Greenford, Hayes, Uxbridge and Willesden Junction) and 500 buses in 2013. Hayes depot closed in 2017. Alperton depot was closed in 2021.
