It was originally a taxi company that also entered the bus operating business. They operated as a subcontractor in many Dutch bus concessions, mostly for Arriva, Hermes (Breng) and Connexxion. In 2018 TCR took over the operation of Connexxion Tours. The company TCR was declared bankrupt in February 2020. Connexxion took over the buses and operations in Noord-Holland Noord (Alkmaar, Hoorn) as well as some services within the Amstelland-Meerlanden concession. Besseling Travel took over operations around Hoekse Waard, Goeree-Overvlakkee (HWGO) and Zeeland, where TCR operated for Connexxion, using the name Next. Besseling also took over operations in West Brabant and Limburg where TCR operated for Arriva, here the name BusiNext is used.
