AS ESTRUTURAS URBANAS DO BRASIL: UMA ANÁLISE A PARTIR DO TAMANHO DAS CIDADES

Ricardo Machado Ruiz

Anais do XXXII Encontro Nacional de Economia [Proceedings of the 32nd Brazilian Economics Meeting] from ANPEC - Associação Nacional dos Centros de Pós-Graduação em Economia [Brazilian Association of Graduate Programs in Economics]

Abstract: The literature on urban economics usually point up the developing countries as those ones with urban structure extremely concentrated and unequal, and the developed countries as those countries with a better distribution of cities. This paper compares the national and state urban structures of two countries: the USA, a developed country, and Brazil, a developing country. In the Brazilian case, the regional urban structures are also analyzed.
