Abstract:
The present research intends to establish and outline the structural changes of the organizations in the context of the knowledge-based economy in order to maintain the human, material and financial resources, and meanwhile being capable to achieve economical growth. These changes were adopted by organizations, especially since changes occur in a dynamic increasingly accelerated where the order of the resources is another one. The transition to the newly knowledge-based economy has proved that the old traditional structures, where the rigid hierarchies used to dominate, don’t allow anymore the coordination of the activities that became increasingly complex. Switching towards a flat structure where the employees are encouraged to self-manage and self-organize themselves allows the organizations to better cope with the current economical environment.
